MAYER MORGANROTH

Mayer ("Mike") Morganroth is the senior partner of Morganroth & Morganroth, which he formed in January 1989 with his son, Jeffrey B. Morganroth. Mr. Morganroth began practicing law in 1955, and has handled legal matters in virtually every practice area over his lengthy and extensive career.
Mr. Morganroth has extensive experience in complex commercial litigation, white collar criminal matters, constitutional litigation, intellectual property litigation, business matters, employment and labor matters, corporate matters, real estate matters, family law matters, probate matters, personal injury, tax litigation, bankruptcy litigation, civil rights and discrimination matters, insurance matters, securities litigation, product liability litigation, professional malpractice matters and entertainment matters.
Mr. Morganroth's practice is not limited to plaintiff or defense work nor does he handle matters in a single geographical area. Rather, Mr. Morganroth performs plaintiff work and defense work and he handles court cases in numerous different courts and jurisdictions as well as arbitrations, mediations and appeals. JAMES A. KELLY

James A. Kelly has had a distinguished career in education policy, education finance, philanthropy, and teaching standards, assessments and certification. He is a trustee of Cranbrook Educational Community in Bloomfield Hills, MI. From 1987-1999 he was Founding President and CEO of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, where he led efforts that established National Board Certification, the highest professional recognition in the teaching profession. Mr. Kelly taught at Columbia University and Harvard University, and was senior program officer at the Ford Foundation, where grant programs he directed resulted in significantly reduced inequities in how public education systems in the US are financed. Since his “retirement” in 1999, he has served as a senior advisor to the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, the Asia Society, the World Bank, Widmeyer Communications, the National Academy of Sciences, the Carnegie and Ford Foundations, Atlantic Philanthropies, Standard and Poors, and others.
His Ph.D. is from Stanford University, with concentrations in education, economics and political science. His B.A. is from Shimer College, then part of the University of Chicago, and his M.A. is from the University of Chicago. He is an elected member of the National Academy of Education. Awards and honors include the Russell G. Mawby Award for Philanthropy from the Council of Michigan Foundations, the James A. Kelly Award, presented annually to a distinguished American by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, and the James A. Kelly Learning Levers Prize, an annual student competition established in his honor at the University of Michigan.

PIERLUIGI SERRAINO

Pierluigi Serraino, AIA, is an architect, author, and educator. His work and writings have been published in professional and scholarly journals such as Architectural Record, Artforum, A+U (Japan), The Architectural Review (UK), Architectural Design (UK), The Journal of the Society of Architectural Historian, and the Journal of Architectural Education. He has lectured on architectural photography, modern architecture, digital design, and California Modernism at institutions of higher learning and museums, such as Princeton University, Columbia, CUNY, the National Building Museum, the Graham Foundation, the SFMOMA, LACMA and the Royal Institute of British Architects in London, among many others.
He has authored and contributed to several books, among them Modernism Rediscovered (Taschen, 2000) now at its 3rd printing, Eero Saarinen (Taschen, 2005), and The Creative Architect: Inside the Great Personality Study (Monacelli Press, 2016). His latest book is California Captured (Phaidon, 2018) on architectural photographer Marvin Rand and co-authored with Emily Bills and Sam Lubell. His currently working on a major retrospective on architectural photographer Ezra Stoller (forthcoming, Phaidon, 2019) and is co-authoring a book on the History of California Modernism with Alan Hess.
Before opening his independent practice as Pierluigi Serraino Architect(s) Inc., he worked for Mark Mack in Los Angeles on residential designs, Skidmore Ownings & Merrill in San Francisco on institutional and commercial large-scale projects in the United States and China, and in Anshen & Allen in San Francisco on health care and university designs. Serraino's practice ranges from design of single family residences, adaptive re-use, health care facilities, and commercial structures. He is based in Alameda, California.

Rafaela Seppälä

Rafaela Seppälä is a member of the board of the National Gallery of Finland (Kansallismuseo) and a founding member of the Kiasma contemporary Art Museum, Foundation. She is also with her husband gallerist Kaj Forsblom a collector of art and design. Their design collection was presented under the title ”100 Years of Finnish Design” at Sweden´s Nationalmuseum in 2017 on the occasion of the centenary of Finnish independence. The collection has a specific focus on Eliel Saarinen as the father of Finnish architecture and design. Rafaela Seppälä is also a member of the board of the Finnish media art and design platform at the ArtParis fair and has been a member of the boards of both the Ornamo Foundation - that selects the Finnish Designer of the Year - and the Architecture Museum of Finland.
